Bézout gathers the research community in mathematics and computer science of the East of the Paris region. It brings together more than 170 tenured researchers and faculty members, in three laboratories: CERMICS (applied mathematics), LAMA (mathematics) and LIGM (computer science), located in Marne-la-Vallée (Université Gustave Eiffel, École des Ponts ParisTech) and Créteil (Université Paris-Est Créteil).
Bézout actually corresponds to several projects and structures:
- Labex (Laboratory of Excellence, created in 2011 by the French National Research Agency and extended in 2019),
- Research Federation (recognized by CNRS),
Through all these tools, it supports graduate education and research in mathematics and computer science, with a strong emphasis at the interface between these two disciplines. It offers attractive scholarships for excellent international students who wish to study mathematics, computer science, or both – via the original math+CS track – at the graduate level. PhD fellowships and post-doctoral positions are also available. Last but not least, Bézout receives frequent visit of world-class experts thanks to its invited professors program.
