The Archimedes Mathématiques-Informatique Institute gathers four international level research units (I2M in Mathematics, LIS in Computer Science, CPT in Theoretical Physics, and the Fresnel Institute in Wave Theory) and the international conference center CIRM. With the aim of developing the interactions between these communities, we put a stress on: Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; Security; Quantum Technology, though we also support fundamental research in Mathematics and Computer Science as well as collaboration with the socio-economical eco-system.
Among other activities, we propose every year several scholarships for M_2 students and at least one for a PhD fellow.
At the heart of our approach, we believe that, if Mathematics are the historical language of Science in the 21st century, Computer Science is becoming a universal language for Science as well. Our wish is not only to build a network of excellency between these two sciences but also to construct with the whole academic community a new language for sciences and technologies.
